By the early 1800s, the US was in the full throes of economic change due to the industrial revolution. Industrialization went along with major changes in transportation and in the establishment of national and international networks of trade, production and consumption, i.e. the “market revolution.” These changes affected the United States in many general ways, but Americans experienced them in different ways. In this discussion, you will be asked to consider how the industrial, transportation, and market revolutions impacted Americans.

Using the secondary sources above as evidence, consider the following in a post of at least 250 words:
- Economic transformations like the “revolutions” mentioned in the readings are often thought of as indicators of progress and improvement. How did these revolutions help America progress or improve?
- How did different groupings of Americans (including immigrants) experience the impact of those revolutions? Which groups benefited or suffered setbacks, either in absolute terms (worse off over time) or in relative terms (losing ground to other groups)? By groupings, you should be thinking in terms such as: race, socio-economic class, native-born or immigrant, etc. You may also want to specify in terms of region (where these changes took place) or gender, for instance, middle-class white women or working-class men.
Then, over the course of the week, respond to the posts of at least two of your classmates.
