Inferno: Discussion Activity
In many ways, Dante’s ideas about crime and punishment are different from our own, although some of his ideas still operate in our time. Think carefully about all the crimes (i.e., sins) and punishments that are represented in the Inferno. For each question below, draft a brief statement that includes the main reasons that you believe the punishment does or does not fit the crime. Post your statements in “Most Fitting” and “Least Fitting,” respectively, in the Discussions area. You can access these Discussions on the following pages. Be sure to read each of your colleagues’ postings before proceeding to the writing assignment for this unit. Comment on your colleagues’ postings as appropriate.
