If the framers of the Constitution were alive today they might be surprised by the federal gov’t role in the economy, world stage and our personal lives.  Today the federal gov’t has assumed a role much different from what they expected.  Which aspect of the federal gov’t’s current activities would most surprise them and why? Is there any way to reconcile their views with the expectations America has for the federal gov’t? How could this be accomplished? Should this effort be undertaken and why has it not been accomplished?
